Many users complain about facing Cydia white icon problem while jailbreaking their devices.
Some users asked: about the solution now you can fix it.
How to fix white Cydia icon after jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 / 4.3.1 using Redsn0w 0.9.6 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad. You can follow the steps below to fix Cydia white icon.
Step 1: Open Redsn0w 0.9.6rc14.
Step 2: Select the same firmware you used when jailbreaking.
Step 3: Once IPSW identified, click "Next"
Step 4: Uncheck "Install Cydia" and select "Just boot tethered right now" and click next (Don't worry this will not affect your untethered jailbreak)
Step 5: Here, I recommend that you go ahead and be proactive by putting your iPhone into DFU mode prior to clicking "next".
Step 6: Once you click "next", the iPhone will go through the tethered boot process once. When you return to your home screen, Cydia should be back to normal.
I tried it myself and it worked well, tell me what about you.

this is one of the reasons I don’t like tethered jb’s, other than the inconvenience of the boot but things like safari and cydia don’t work until the tether has been complete.
ReplyDeleteDo I have to do this with the rc14 even though I have made the JB with the rc16?

ReplyDeleteThanks a lot. now how do we untether? (being the point of all this in the first place)
ReplyDeleteHad this problem over and over using 3GS, iOS 4.3.3 and redsn0w 0.9.9b8. So went back to redsn0w 0.9.6r16 and the problem doesn't occur.
ReplyDeleteSeems to be something in the newer version of redsn0w.
Cudos to the guy above, with the latest redsn0w 9.9b8 wether you automatically detect or use a specific IPSW (4.3.3) it wont work neither will upgrading the Baseband, but using 0.9.6r16 NO PROBLEM.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
