Iportand : If you are getting "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" when restoring to iOS 5, try this:
1. Open Terminal and type: sudo nano /etc/hosts 2. Find this line: 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com 3. Type '#' in front of it: #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com 4. Press control+o to save your hosts file then enter. 5. Try restoring again.
