As you are probably well aware, Apple have released iOS 4.0.1, which patches the PDF Exploit used by JailbreakMe (Star). Now there is a way to trick your device into thinking its running 4.0.2 and patch the PDF Exploit, while staying on 4.0/4.0.1 and keeping your jailbreak!
All you need to do is install “FirmwareChanger 4.0.2” from HackyouriPhone in Cydia. You will need to reboot/respring. Once done, open the “firmware” app, and select 4.0.2. Reboot, and you are all fixed! No more nagging iTunes and you are now safe from the exploit!

ReplyDeleteHey I would like to update to 4.0.2 and not to 4.1 since when I try to update in itunes it only updates to 4.1. Will this method work to update to only 4.0.2
ReplyDeletethis only a Tweak who let itunes think u r on firmware 4.0.2 but u r still on 4.0 or 4.0.1 .this is only that itunes dont asked u always to update
